Thermogravimetric Instrumentation allows the observation of the weight reduction of a small specimen, typically 10 mg, during both a rate-controlled heating process and a gas environment controlled process. The heating rate is usually between 1 and 5 degree Celsius and the gas atmosphere is ambient air by default or any gas (Ar, N2 etc.) provided through an inlet under high pressure.
